How do you manage payments?
Projekt Open Books collects deposits for your tattoo bookings via Stripe.
How can I set up a Stripe account?
You can set up a Stripe account to receive deposits for tattoo appointments via the billing page in the app. This feature is currently restricted to the European Economic area.
What fees apply to my clients?
When collecting a deposit via the app, a 10% service fee (+tax) is added to the customer charge. The service fee & tax are non-refundable. For example, when a tattoo artist requests a €50 deposit, the customer receives a payment link for €56. The service fee ensures we can cover payment & data processing costs.
Can I collect deposits in currencies other than Euro?
Absolutely, as long as your business is registered in one of the supported countries, you can use your local currency.
How can I share my booking form?
Once you publish your booking form and open your books, you can share your profile by pressing the share button on your profile overview page. This is a public link and customers can submit tattoo appointment requests as long as your books are open.
Can I customize my booking form?
Absolutely, you can customize your booking form to tailor it to your needs. Collect whatever information you need for your tattoo appointments.
Do my clients need to download the Projekt Open Books app to book with me?
No, clients can submit tattoo booking requests via your public profile link. Clients will not need access to the app.
What do my clients need to submit a request?
Your clients just need a phone number with WhatsApp enabled or a valid email address. All communications will then take place via their preferred contact method.
How does the chat feature work?
When a client submits a booking request for a tattoo appointment, you will see a new request in your notifications and in your bookings. By clicking on Chat, you will be able to directly communicate with the client. Clients will then receive a message on WhatsApp or email based on their preference.

To ensure the client used the correct phone number, they need to verify it via a one-time code before submitting the booking form. This way you can be sure you messages make it to the client.
Can I send and receive images?
Yes, we know that sending and receiving images is critical for scheduling a tattoo appointment. You will be able to send and receive images through the chat.
Can I use my own WhatsApp number for the chat?
Unfortunately not yet. While we plan on integrating this in the future, at the moment all messages will be sent through one of POBs business WhatsApp or email accounts.
